Madie Scott

“Midwest Summer” EP out September 24th

About Madie

Madie Scott writes songs that only a jaded hopeless romantic can. Her poignant, piano-driven pop ballads dissect relationships gone awry, unmet expectations, and the uncertainty of young adulthood. Swelling, melancholic, modern synths meet lyrical depth, soaring harmonies, impressive vocal range, and timeless piano. Her sound is inspired by an amalgamation of artists—from Bob Seger to Miranda Lambert and Kanye West to Brandi Carlile, Billy Joel, and Train.

About “Midwest Summer”

Madie Scott’s debut EP “MIDWEST SUMMER” is an ode to summer and an ode to love—both glorious while they last, but both often ultimately gone too fast. Her debut EP takes the listener on a raw and reflective journey through love, loss, and the growth that only heartbreak can inspire. Born and bred in the Midwest, Scott’s lyrical imagery pays homage to the clarity of lakes, the vastness of forests, and the comfort of contemplative train rides in the midst of heartbreak—all coaxing the listener to uncover the strength that ultimately comes from sorrow. Like a pinecone which only releases new seeds when exposed to certain heat, growth often requires complete and utter destruction of what has been built or grown thus far. Love begins and ends, much like a Midwest Summer, and sometimes you have to burn it all down to find yourself again.

MIDWEST SUMMER: An ode to summer. To youth. To growth. To love, while it lasts. To love, when it’s lost. Sometimes it’s as fleeting as a Midwest Summer …
